What is the difference between counselling and psychotherapy?
Both give careful attention to your difficulties by providing a secure space in which you can talk about your thoughts and feelings.
Counselling is more likely to be aimed at alleviating a problem that has arisen in your work or home life. It is usually once a week for a shorter duration.
Psychotherapy is more likely to attend to long-standing patterns in your relationships which may have deep roots and which you want to address. It is usually a longer commitment of at least once weekly appointments.
